Required Shipping Documentation

Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Caribbean Islands

A commercial invoice must accompany the Bill of Lading (BOL) to confirm shipment value.

  • Shipments valued over $2,500 require electronic filing of a Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) through the U.S. Customs Automated Export System (AES).
    • SEDs must be filed and authorized at least 24 hours before vessel departure. R+L Carriers can assist with filing.
